John Yen Wnd has been both a salesperson in and an owner of real estate companies. He began his real estate career in 1987 and in 2003, NAR Realtor Magazine named John as one the 25 most influential people in real estate. He is the Asian Real Estate Association of America’s 2006 “Real Estate Person of the Year,” and in 2011, was inducted in the Council of Real Estate Brokerage Manager’s “Hall of Leaders.”
John had owned and managed a real estate company for 16 years, and is currently a Broker Associate at the San Francisco office of Intero Real Estate Services, a Berkshire Hathaway Affiliate. His business, from its inception, has included buyers with Asian backgrounds, both domestic and global. In his 35 years in real estate, John has personally be involved in or supervised 1,000s of real estate transactions. John served as the 2005 President of the San Francisco Association of Realtors, the 2004 National President for the Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers, and is a Founding Chairman for the Asian Real Estate Association of America. With its membership exceeding 15,000, AREAA is United States’ largest real estate association focused on the Asian American Pacific Islander market. John lives his core belief the foundation for building healthy, vibrant, growing communities through increased sustainable home ownership
John served as the 2005 Chairman of Freddie Mac’s Affordable Housing Advisory Council and was a member of Chase Home Finance’s National Housing Advisory Council. John served as the 2015 Chairman of the National Association of Realtor’s Conventional Finance Committee, and is has been a member of NAR’s Public Policy Coordinating Committee for the past ten years.
John understands the challenges faced by ethnic minorities in reaching home ownership and knows that the global nature of today’s real estate market can be a tool to stabilize communities to enhance sustainable home ownership.
